This
page is intended to answer some of the many questions Brides
have when planning their wedding. We hope it will make you
understand procedures and policies that most Bridal retailers
adhere to. If you need any additional information, do nor
hesitate to give us a call.
1) What
does "special order" mean?
All dresses come in different colors and sizes. Sizes are
available from size 4 to 40, for most designers. All salons
have a sample of the dress, usually in a size 10. From that
sample, any color that is offered can be ordered. Measurements
are taken to determine the closest size to be ordered. Most
dresses in the bridal lines run smaller than normal dresses,
so sometimes larger sizes need to be ordered then are worn
in everyday clothing. Alterations can then be done, for
an additional charge for the seamstress’s work, to
make all dresses fit as good as possibly.
2) How far in advance should
dresses be ordered?
Once you’ve found the dress of your dreams. It’s
never to early to order it. By ordering early you’re
assured the dress will not be discontinued or increase in
price. Most wedding gowns take from 12-16 weeks to be made
and bridesmaids dresses take from 10-12 weeks. Rush orders
can always be made for an additional charge. Be sure to
allow enough time for fittings and alterations.
3) What is the return policy
for special ordered dresses and what is the payment policy?
The bridal industry is very unique, since all dresses are
made to order. Because of this there are no refunds, returns
or cancellations are honored under any circumstance. "All
sales are final" is a policy that all established bridal
salons adhere to. ALL special orders required a 50% deposit
before the order is placed and the balance is due when the
dress comes into the store.
4) What about all the advertising
on the Internet for discounts?
BRIDES BEWARE!!! Don’t shop on the Internet for your
wedding attire. There have been many wedding horror stories
of dresses bought at such a "bargain". Don’t
be misled by many of theses sites offering such high discounts.
Be sure the site is backed by a reputable store- one that
has been established and in business for a long time. A
lot of these so called "discount" sites are actually
"middlemen" or unauthorized dealers and many are
not sealing with the manufacturer directly. They actually
could even be working out of their homes or from a P.O.
box. Any problem that may arise, such as wrong sixes, variations
in dye lots or even defective garments will not be able
to be corrected. The huge discount you have received will
result in a disaster! A quality dress deserves a reputable
dealer. We at Pat’s Bridals pride ourselves in giving
our customers peace of mind when ordering their gowns. Your
wedding day is one of the most special days of your life-
don’t cheapen the experience with a store or web site
that doesn’t want to make it the most memorable day
ever!!
